Home Events Developing Equitable Grading Practices Framework for Portland Public Schools’ High School Success Plan
Northwest | April 18, 2023
The first working session focused on refining Portland Public Schools’ (PPS) existing evidence-based equitable grading practices framework as part of the Portland High School Graduation Partnership. The framework will guide the development of instruments that the PPS partners will use to address their five equitable grading practices research questions. REL Northwest summarized the existing PPS equitable grading practices resources and recommendations from recent publications and literature on grading practices. REL Northwest used the summaries to facilitate discussion of key grading practice components that the PPS partners would like to include in their equitable grading practices framework. For each component, REL Northwest will co-create descriptions of a continuum of practice. The framework will include the components PPS believes must be in place to support equitable grading practices and describe a developmental continuum.
