Home Events Perspectives on Data Culture in Education Systems in the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Region
Pacific | April 11, 2024 - April 12, 2024
REL Pacific facilitated this roundtable discussion at the U.S. Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance Summit 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. In 2023, REL Pacific facilitated an eight-month community of practice (CoP) with educators from across the Pacific education systems on data use and data culture in the U.S.-affiliated Pacific region. Subsequently, REL Pacific filmed interviews with K–12 and postsecondary education system leaders on their perspectives about the successes and challenges of nourishing cultures of data use in their systems, particularly related to their local cultural contexts. This roundtable discussion featured reflections from CoP facilitators and Pacific education system leaders on data culture, data use, and data integrity. The audience was invited to discuss contextualizing available resources on data use from the U.S. Department of Education.
