Coaching on Developing a Rubric to Assess the Quality of Materials, Tools, and Resources for Individual Academic and Career Planning: Session 1

Southwest | January 29, 2024

Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest is partnering with staff from the College, Career, and Military Preparation Division at the Texas Education Agency (TEA) who are working to ensure that all Texas high school students have access to high-quality career and education pathways. TEA is currently piloting its Effective Advising Framework, a comprehensive school counseling program designed to support students to and throughout their career and education pathway.

This coaching project will build off the Ask an Expert presentation with Dr. Scott Solberg, a professor with Boston University's Center for Future Readiness. REL Southwest will build TEA partners’ capacity to develop rubrics and guide their efforts in creating a rubric to assess dimensions of quality for advising materials, tools, and resources. In this session, partners reviewed the rubric development process and, to guide the work, discussed the purpose and use of the rubric for high-quality advising materials, tools, and resources.
